Connecting Math Concepts B (CMC B) Overview

CMC B is the second part of a six-level Direct Instruction Maths program. It is suitable for students who have completed Connecting Math Concepts Level A or have passed the Placement Test for Level B.

In this program, students learn to make connections between related topics in mathematics and between procedures and knowledge. CMC introduces concepts systematically and then weaves them together throughout the program.

Once a concept is introduced, it is practised consistently across the entire program. Teachers follow the program sequentially, enabling students to progressively build their skills and knowledge.

CMC B covers the following Mathematical tracks:

  • counting
  • symbol identification.
  • place value number families
  • column addition and subtraction
  • word problems
  • fractions
  • more than, less than, equal to
  • time
  • money
  • geometry.
