Tapping Signal

The Tap Signal is indicated in the script with the word ‘Tap’ followed by a number. For example, (Tap 10).  It is an audible signal. It is used to initiate choral responses like in counting exercises, when students listen to a tap signal, they count together and the teacher leads them with audible taps.

The timing of taps is consistent. When the teacher models a task and then directs students to perform it, the timing of the taps is identical to the rate at which it was modelled.
