Corrections in Temporal Sequencing
If Students struggle to say the whole sequence about what Bleep did, correct using ‘lead, test, re-test’.
‘Lead’ consists of breaking the statement into two parts, with Students repeating the last part until firm, then putting them together.

The process involves the following:
- Say; “Listen. Say ‘after he talked on the phone'” and repeat until firm.
- Say; “Bleep climbed a ladder…” and signal.
- Say; “Say the whole thing. Start with Bleep climbed a ladder and tell when” and signal.
- Say; “One more time. Say the whole thing” and signal.
Lead 1/2 | Test 1/2 | Re-test |
1 “Listen: Say ‘after he talked on the phone'”. ‘After he talked on the phone’. 2 “Bleep climbed a ladder… ‘After he talked on the phone'”. | 1 Say the whole thing. Start with ‘Bleep climbed a ladder and tell when’; “Bleep climbed a ladder after he talked on the phone”. 2 “One more time. Say the whole thing; ‘Bleep climbed a ladder after he talked on the phone'”. | Starting over. Students say all responses down to where error was made and beyond. |
Turn to page 33 in ‘RMSE-LA 2’ Teacher’s Guide. Practice exercise 2 with your partner with student-errors.
