Instructional Coach does not Provide Frequent Constructive and Positive Feedback

Instruction Coach, Mary, is working with the Langley School team in their efforts in building a positive high expectation school. During the coaching sessions, Mary is giving very general feedback to the teachers she is supporting. Often, she will cancel a scheduled feedback meeting due to other commitments. As a result, teacher, Brandon, is not able to improve his teaching skills to achieve the desired outcomes. Mary has not enabled Brandon to understand optimum performance and how he can build and refine his practice to achieve it.

Since Mary did not use the three R’s strategy in the feedback meetings with Brandon, he cannot address issues and is not able to apply the strategies through training to see improvement.
