Features of positive high-expectations
schools
Principals incorporate four core features into positive high-expectations schools. These include the following:
- Believing in the potential of every student, no matter their background, behaviour issues or character traits.
- Sharing expectations, desired behaviours and character traits across the school and community, which are continually reinforced between the teaching team, students and parents.
- Partnering to improve students’ educational opportunities and outcomes.
- Teaching and modelling the values, behaviour expectations and character traits for students.
