The Principal’s Role in Continuous Improvement

The role the principal plays in the leadership team, leading continuous improvement is: 

  • The principal models Positive High Expectations and leads continuous improvement across the school community.    
  • They are the instructional leader who leads from the front and adapts their leadership approach to suit the school context.    
  • The principal communicates the importance of continuous improvement with school team and puts procedures in place to resolve issues that impede students’ success.

  • The principal develops and monitors the School Improvement Plan, using data to ensure consistency across the school. 
  • They ensure consistency in delivering effective teaching techniques and practices in all classrooms and work on their own development through coaching and seeking expert advice.
