The Classroom Domain

The classroom domain is the teaching and learning space where the teacher and students do the most important business of the school. It is where the teacher delivers effective teaching and the students learn to mastery.

The cycle of teaching and learning occurs in every classroom lesson every day. The defining feature of each lesson is the provision of effective teaching to every child.

Between any great teacher and their student is effective teaching. It begins with the premise that students can learn, and the teacher is responsible for ensuring they are learning.

The implicit contract is that students pay attention, and the teacher succinctly provides information and checks that they are firm in their understanding. It is a supportive relationship between the teacher and their students.
