Editing

Editing is an important part of the writing process in the Expressive Writing 1–2 exercises. Students are taught the skills of editing their own work, so that they grasp where they are making mistakes and need more practise.

The editing process involves:

  • students writing a passage
  • students reading and rereading the written passage
  • students use specified checks to check whether their written passages meet the criteria
  • the criteria are always based on skills and information that they have been taught previously
  • students make the necessary edits.
