Placement Test Guidelines

Ensure that students cannot see or hear another student being tested.

  • Give students the placement test that corresponds to their school level.
  • If the student passes the school level test, give the test for the next highest level of the DI program. Continue testing up a level until students do not pass the test.
  • If the student does not pass the school level placement test, give the test for the next lowest level of the program. Continue testing down a level until the student passes the test.
  • Group students into homogeneous groups based on placement test results. The size of groups varies with the program being taught. Consult with your principal or instruction coach.
