What Happens When Leading a Positive High-Expectations Culture is Delivered with Fidelity
Positive, high-expectations schools have a positive mindset embedded into their school culture. This mindset is based on the belief of the potential of all students and their capacity to continue to cultivate that potential.
It encompasses the whole school team as well as the students and their parents. The school team supports each other as well as the students and the parents, who in turn value and support every child to reach their full potential.
A positive, high-expectations culture begins with school leaders. When leadership commits to high expectations and a positive mindset, it creates a greater school-wide effort.
A positive high expectations culture creates:
- more opportunities for students to learn and develop
- more engagement with parents so they can best support their child’s learning
- more effective teaching among the teaching team, leading to better outcomes from students.
