Scenario: Practicing Supporting Behaviour Interventions

Step 1: Teacher Emily is a new teacher. She understands the expectations for managing student behaviour, but she does not yet have much practical experience.  

Step 2: Emily is paired with Teacher Hayley, who is an experienced teacher who excels at managing student behaviour. Emily observes Hayley’s class multiple times, so she can see how Hayley interacts with her students. Hayley visits Emily’s classroom as well, noting when she is doing well and providing feedback on ways Emily can improve her practice.

Step 4: As a result, the school’s behaviour plan is followed consistently. Students know what to expect from all their teachers and have the support they need.     

Step 3: Emily learns how to follow the school’s behaviour plan and can support her students’ behavioural needs.
