Scenario: Address Identified Behaviours

Step 2: During a lesson in Benjamin’s class, student James tries to talk with his friend instead of participating in the learning. Benjamin recognises the inappropriate behaviour and uses a non-verbal gesture to get James’ attention and redirect him back to the learning. Later, when James is in Courtney’s class and again tries to talk with his friend, Courtney responds in the same way.

Step 4: James and the other students recognise that, with any of their teachers, inappropriate behaviours have consistent consequences. They are more likely to behave and focus on their learning.

Step 3: James sees that his behaviour gets the same response from each of his teachers.
