Scenario: Inconsistent Use of Responses and Consequences
- Step 1: The school has established a behaviour plan that identifies inappropriate behaviours and the corrective responses and consequences that will be used.
- Step 2: Teacher Hayden is aware of the behaviours identified as inappropriate but does not consistently use the corrective responses and consequences that are part of the plan.
- Step 3: Students in Hayden’s class are unsure of how he will respond when they behave poorly, as he sometimes seems quite strict, but at other times is lenient.
- Step 4: As a result, the students tend to act out more often in Hayden’s class. The students often feel like his responses are unfair.
