Student Academic Performance Improves
Enacting Behaviour Plans can result in a student improving their academic performance. When behaviour is under control, students can focus on academic content and do their best work.
Teacher:
- identifies how behaviour impacts student’s ability to process academic content
- implements academic accommodations such as preferential seating, extended time, or modified workload to help the student achieve success
- can focus on instruction instead of responding to misbehaviour
- promotes equity in the classroom.
Student:
- Benefits from accommodations so they can process academic content more easily.
- Has access to tools and resources to help them understand and apply academic content.
- Is more likely to achieve growth in academic subjects.
