Behaviour Plan Leads to Improvement in Student Academic Performance

Behaviour Plan Leads to Improvement in Student Academic Performance

Step 1: Student Megan struggles with executive functioning skills. She has trouble with organising her time and materials. As a result, Megan has fallen behind in several subjects.

Step 2: Teacher Paula enacts a behaviour plan for Megan. The plan lays out strategies and accommodations Paula can use to help Megan with her struggles. Per the behaviour plan, Megan is provided with a checklist to help with organising materials before an assignment. She is also given a timer to help manage her time and stay on task.

Step 4: The behaviour plan helps Megan to complete her work in a timely manner. She has caught up in her subjects. Since she has support in place to help with executive functioning, her teacher can spend more time helping her with academic skills.

Step 3: Once the behaviour plan is enacted, Megan can start and finish tasks. She also learns to set up her materials before starting an assignment. The checklist helps her to stay organised.
