What Happens When Following School-Wide Behaviour Plan Duties is Delivered with Fidelity
Positive high-expectations schools build a shared commitment to student learning and behaviour by developing a set of outcomes in a common language. This shared commitment is included in the Behaviour Management Model and is framed by three core elements: a vision, a mission, and set of 3-5 school-wide values.
The Behaviour Management Model defines the responsibilities of every member in working towards those aspirations. Every member of the school team has a role to fill in pursuit of upholding the school-wide behaviour plan.
The school-wide behaviour plan is established by the Behaviour Management Team, made up of school leaders and other school team members, including teachers. This team determines the vision, mission and values for the school, and they define inappropriate behaviours and determine consequences. They use behaviour data to make decisions about needed professional learning and to support students.
