Scenario: Share Responsibility for School Improvement

Step 1: Principal Rebecca leads the development of school visions, missions and values. Instruction Coach Hayden provides professional learning so the school team members know and are prepared to uphold these values.

Step 2: Teachers Georgia and Natalie, along with the other teachers, instruct their students on the values, demonstrating and model appropriate behaviours. They monitor student behaviours and address inappropriate behaviours immediately. They keep accurate, up-to-date records of student behaviour.

Step 4: They respond with support and professional learning to address any concerns before they escalate. By working together, the school team’s skills and practice and student behaviours continue to improve.

Step 3: Rebecca and Hayden have the data they need to understand patterns of behaviour in their school.
