Leading the 8 Cycles of School Practice in the School

The school leaders collaborate in the school domain to ensure the cycles are embedded across the school.

The principal embeds the cycles of school practice by:

  • providing teachers with professional learning support
  • developing and implementing the School Improvement Plan
  • scheduling regular professional conversations between peers
  • promoting the values of collaboration among the teaching team.

The instruction coach embeds the cycles of school practice by:

  • holding professional learning conversations with the teaching team
  • conducting classroom observations and coaching sessions
  • facilitating school and weekly data reviews
  • organising lesson practice and professional conversations.

Both principal and instruction coach place supporting effective teaching through the 8 Cycles of School Practice as their highest priority.
