The Teaching Team and Professional Learning
In the zone of Professional Learning, the teaching team:
- actively engages in professional learning
- follows their Professional Learning Plan
- completes modules on the Mastery Teaching Pathway
- practises newly acquired skills in the classroom
- participates in professional learning conversations.

Introduction
A teacher called Leo discusses his Professional Learning Plan with Jessica (instruction coach) at the beginning of the school term. Leo is a new teacher in the school so he begins with Foundation course modules in the Mastery Teaching Pathway, along with program modules to help with teaching specific programs.

Review
In the Professional Learning Plan, Jessica assigns Learn Effective Teaching Essentials and Teach Spelling Mastery to Leo, which he completes within Term 1. Leo begins practising and using the techniques outlined in the modules every day in the classroom to master them.

Resolve
Jessica completes classroom observations throughout the terms. During her observations, she provides feedback to Leo on the techniques he effectively completes and the practices that need more work. Towards the end of Term 3, Jessica determines that Leo is now ready to be evaluated for mastery of the techniques and practices learned in the modules.

Reinspire
Leo records a section of a Spelling Mastery lesson for evaluation. He uploads the video to the Mastery Teaching Pathway for evaluation. Jessica reviews the video as an Assessor and determines that Leo has achieved mastery in the demonstrated techniques. She awards him accreditation and shares his achievement in the weekly school newsletter.
