Placement Test Overview

Each level of RMT has a specific placement test for that level. The test results provide guidelines for grouping students and help teachers to form homogeneous groups where students can work at their performance level.

Placement tests determine proper placement, which ensures that the material presented is neither too easy nor too difficult for students.

Students that are placed either too low or too high are likely to exhibit behavioural issues. When given work that is too easy, students can become bored or feel that the work is beneath them and shut down. On the other hand, when confronted with work that is too challenging, they can become frustrated and misbehave.

Students who are appropriately placed can master content and complete a lesson within the allotted time.
