Supporting Tier 2 Students: CICO

Check-In/Check-Out

The Check-In/Check-Out (CICO) program was designed for students who need additional support in learning behavioural expectations. Students on the CICO program may have trouble staying on task or completing their work or have multiple discipline referrals.

The coach supports the principal in assigning CICO staff to students. They ensure that the participating CICO staff members understand the CICO procedures and support teachers, mentors and parents to ensure the process is running smoothly.

Fortnightly, the coach works with the BMT and CICO staff members to review CICO student data, gauge improvement and make any necessary adjustments.

During faculty meetings, the coach supports the BMT in sharing CICO student progress with all staff members.
