Teachers Observe a Peer
Instruction coach Allison conducts the weekly lesson practice for the teaching team to practise upcoming lessons. Before the weekly lesson practice, Allison wants them to observe a teacher who has mastered the specific teaching techniques they need to practice. They observe a teacher using engagement techniques such as track with me, whiteboards and pair-share activities that are specified in the Year 4 Oz-e-science lesson. When teacher, Rhiannon, is delivering the lesson, the students are active participants in the lesson because they know what the expectations and routines are for each activity and section of the lesson. Rhiannon completes all activities in the lesson in standard time. Allison discusses with the teachers about the lesson they observed and the teaching techniques that were done with mastery.
