Teacher Practises the Techniques and Practices

Instruction coach Stanton hosts the weekly lesson practice session. The teaching team are rehearsing the script for the upcoming lessons and specifically practising the use of signals. Stanton monitors the practice and witnesses less experienced teachers modifying their delivery of the technique, based on the observation of experienced members of the teaching team and their guidance. Through repetition, Stanton can see significant improvements in the consistency and effectiveness of the teachers’ and teaching assistants’ use of signals. At the end of the practice, Stanton provides feedback and answers questions related to issues that arose during the practice. When Stanton follows up and observes the teachers’ and teaching assistants’ implementation of what they learned, he can see improvement in their practice and the positive impact this is having on their students.
