What Happens When Practice is
Delivered with Fidelity?
The practice
Professional learning is how to teaching team acquire the skills and knowledge to apply effective teaching techniques and practices. The instruction coach plays the role in meeting the development needs of the teaching team. They continuously support the teaching team; from overseeing their professional development, classroom observations, leading the analysis of their teaching and learning data, and through coaching conversations, all designed to assist the team in delivering effective teaching.

What it achieves
Coaching enables the teaching team to continually improve their professional practice to maximise students’ educational outcomes. It enables the school leadership is collaborate with the teaching team through the provision of practise, classroom observation and continual feedback. They provide demonstrations, model best practice and provide feedback on teaching team refines their teacher’s skill and professional practice.

More detail
Continuous improvement in the provision of effective teaching is data driven. Data is used to assess the delivery of teaching practice and students’ progress and learning. The instruction coach analyses the data, identifies anomalies and conducts observations to gather data to verify the cause or contributing factors and determine improvement actions.

Coaching conversations and improvement activities are always student focused, as ultimately the teaching team and instructional leaders are working together to maximise student engagement, learning and educational outcomes.
