Builds Capacity as Teachers Improve
their Practice
Observing a peer delivering effective teaching techniques allows teaching team members to see best practice in a classroom setting. The teaching team can observe how their peer organises and manages the classroom as well as how they deliver effective teaching techniques or practices. When the teaching team practise the technique or practice, they implement what they learned from watching their peer deliver effective teaching in the classroom. When the teacher improves their practice through engaging in professional learning and coaching, it has a positive impact on student engagement, learning and mastery. As the teaching team build their individual practice, capacity is built across the school.

How it works
By observing the delivery of lessons, the teaching time are provided the opportunity to watch a teacher who has mastered the practice and the way this affects students in their class. Additionally, they gain valuable insights from the professional conversation between the instruction coach and teacher or teaching assistant regarding their observations and the verbal feedback from the coach.
