Builds Capacity as Teachers Improve

their Practice

Instruction coach Anthony has identified that an area in need of improvement in many classrooms is establishing routines and expectations as a means of maximising learning time. He has noted in observations that in some classrooms transitions are too slow, students seem confused, unsure what to do and when to do it. Valuable learning time is lost. Anthony schedules peer observations of delivery of this effective teaching technique. He ensures that all staff members have the opportunity to observe best practice. When Anthony conducts his follow up classroom observations, he finds that there have been significant improvements in the teaching team’s practice. This improvement is reflected in the data as there has been an increase in teacher’s completing lessons in standard time and meeting the lesson progress rate.
