Teacher Matilda is teaching spelling. She gives mastery test twelve, reviews the results and finds that four students have not passed the assessment. Matilda remediates the students and retests them. The students pass the mastery test on the second try. After reviewing the results again, she notices that a few students had trouble with words that had ‘aw’ in them. Matilda puts extra emphasis on words with ‘aw’ in them as she moves forward in teaching her lessons.
