Allows the Teacher to Check for Mastery

Using signals effectively whenever a group response is required is an effective way for the teacher to quickly check for mastery. A ‘choral response’ enables the teacher to receive continuous feedback during the lesson to determine whether the students are at mastery.

How it works:

Students answering together on a signal is an effective technique because every student initiates their own response. This means that there are no leaders or followers. Every student must be able to answer correctly and with confidence. The teacher listens attentively to student responses and can identify students who need additional help or have not yet mastered the content.
