The Teacher Uses Data to Make Informed Decisions to Respond to Student Learning

Teacher, Thomas, reviews his notes from the lesson and notices that students are still not firm on two phonics patterns. He adds these skills to the Good-bye List. The next day, Thomas reteaches the phonics patterns, retests students and announces that they demonstrated mastery on both phonics skills. If they demonstrate mastery two more days in a row, they can say goodbye to this skill. After the second day, Thomas is confident that his students are moving towards mastering the skills.
