The Teacher does not Contribute to Building a High-Expectations School Culture

When teachers do not address specific group errors, the teacher does not communicate that they expect students to demonstrate mastery of a skill and perform it correctly each time. Students do not experience and internalise a high-expectations school culture.

The Problem is Compounded

  • The teacher does not have high expectations for students regarding their engagement and learning.
  • The teacher does not demonstrate their commitment to mastery of effective teaching and to maximising educational outcomes for students.
  • The teacher does not model positive high expectations for students.
