Students are not Engaged and Participating in the Lesson

When students do not feel that the teacher is able to address errors or if students feel like the error correction is arbitrary, they feel frustrated. Students may feel like they are making mistakes but don’t know what to do instead or that they are making mistakes but do not know how to fix them. When this happens, student engagement and participation decreases.

The Problem is Compounded

  • Students do not know what to do, how to do it and when they should do it.
  • Students do not have enough opportunity to master skills.
  • Students are not engaged in learning and behaviour, and behaviour problems arise.
  • Students are not confident learners who derive a sense of security from their teacher.
  • Students do not achieve mastery of the content and progress at the expected standard.
