Students Are Engaged and Participating: Example

Teacher, Matilda, has two students who struggle with maths. She has set up the Teacher–Student game to focus on class behaviour, and Flight Path for their academic goals.

As she teaches the lesson, she pays additional attention to her students who are struggling, pointing out when they are either gaining points because of their behaviour or when their work is helping the class meet its academic goals.

As the students become accustomed to seeing their efforts rewarded, they become more confident and engaged in class. Matilda is pleased to see that her students are on-level by the end of the unit.
