How to Manage School Professional Learning

A principal manages school professional learning to instructional leaders and the teaching team by following a process that ensures the team members will participate in professional learning and enhance their teaching techniques and practices.
The principal:
- leads from the front in professional learning
- engages team members about the value of professional learning and the need for continuous development
- reviews the School Improvement Plan with the instruction coach to align what the school intends to achieve with what professional learning the team needs to accomplish this
- works with the instruction coach to use that information to build the school’s Professional Learning Plan
- shares the school Professional Learning Plan with leaders and the teaching team.
