The Teacher does not Use a System to Check for Mastery
The Problem is Compounded
- The teacher cannot identify which students have or have not mastered the content.
- The teacher does not have enough information to make informed teaching decisions about their students’ progress.
- The teacher does not know the per cent of correct responses for all parts of the lessons or note first-time corrects for all parts of the lesson.
- Students do not get the optimal number of responses or repetitions and practice.
- Students do not apply skills during independent practice.
- Teachers cannot ensure that students are, or will be, at mastery on their independent work, checkouts or mastery tests.
