The Problem is Compounded

The teacher cannot see which students need support or areas to reteach.
The teacher does not know what teaching techniques to improve to increase their impact on student growth.
There is no assurance that students are mastering the content, only that the group is making lesson progress.
If students are not firm on each exercise before doing independent work, the group will not meet the standard of eighty-five per cent first-time correct.
The teacher cannot note student errors to see if several students are consistently making errors on a particular skill. Nor can they determine which students are making the same error.
