Students Are Unprepared and Cannot Participate Fully in the Lesson

Teacher Will is teaching a biology lesson. At the point in the lesson when students need to use whiteboards, Will finds that some students do not have their whiteboards, or their markers do not work. He asks the students to just listen to the answers shared on the whiteboards or to work with a partner. Some students who are working with a partner are talking and are not focused and participating fully. Will needs to manage those students who are off-task or not behaving appropriately. Those who were simply listening to responses are not participating at all.
