Auditory Signal

Use an auditory signal when students are focused on their own books or worksheets. For example”

“Everybody, find column one” / 
“Word three is ‘cultivate'”. “Everybody, what word?”

 Focus

First word – 
Teacher checks that every student is touching the first word.

Think time

Teacher pauses about two seconds.

Cue

“What Sound?”

Interval

Teacher pauses one second.

Signal

Teacher gives an audible signal. The signal is any kind of ‘ap’, a snap, a clap, or a tap.
