Droning and Corrections

Droning happens when students slow down their responses and stretch out their words.

If students drone or yell their responses it is an error. Correct using ‘model, lead, test, re-test’.

Model

“That doesn’t sound right.”
“Listen to me;
‘vegetable'”.

Test

“Your turn. Read it the way you talk;
‘vegetable'”.

Re-test

“Starting over from the top of that column.”
“Read the words the way you talk;
‘lodge’.”
