Assessment: independent practice

Oz-e-maths student assessment consists of independent practice and mastery tests at the end of each lesson.

Oz-e-maths lessons contain four independent practice exercises. The teacher records a score for each independent practice. These data inform the teacher if the students are ready to progress to the next exercise or the previous exercises need to be retaught.

At the end of the lesson, a total score is recorded for the independent practices. Students need to achieve a score of eighty-five per cent or more in their independent work to have achieved mastery of the lesson concept.
