The Teacher does not Respond to Individual Student Needs

When the teacher does not set up the classroom for easy monitoring by responding to individual student needs and social norms:

  • Students are not able to see or hear lesson.
  • Students are placed too close to each other or too far apart.

The Problem is Compounded

Students become less engaged in following the lesson and display inappropriate behaviours. Learning time is lost as material must be repeated for those students who cannot see or hear all parts of the lessons. Those students may also not master the material because they do not see or hear all parts of the lesson which will require reteaching.
