Allows Students to Actively Engage in the Lesson

When teachers use engagement techniques effectively in the lesson, it increases student participation to ensure that they are actively involved in their learning.  Using engagement techniques increases the level of focused student talk, encourages the formulation of complete thoughts and use of academic language.

All students are active participants as they are asked to pay attention, engage in pair-share activity, use whiteboards, answer in complete sentences and answer when called upon by the teacher without volunteering.

When engagement techniques are used, all students are interacting, responding and engaged in their learning.
