  • Record yourself teaching Lesson 43, Exercise 5.
  • Practise pausing for think time before saying ‘get ready’ in each step.
  • Practise correcting student error at step 4, first bullet (students say ‘one’ instead of ‘two’).
  • Play back your recording.
  • For your error correction, can you identify model-test-retest?

How to record yourself:

  • Open your device’s camera app and select video.
  • Ensure the device’s front camera is in use (you should be able to see your face on the screen).
  • Position your device in a safe place and at a  short distance from where you intend to stand.
  • Make sure your reference material is close at hand (Teacher Presentation Book).
  • Press/click/tap the record button and step back to your intended position (you should be able to see yourself on the screen).
  • Practise delivering the teaching material.
  • It’s okay to make mistakes. The point is to become better and more confident in delivering the content.
  • Save the recording, then review it. What could you do better?
  • Repeat until firm.
