Teacher Laura is teaching an Oz-e-English lesson. The students are learning about informative texts. Laura pre-teaches the unfamiliar vocabulary by using the pronounce with me technique. She points to the word, ‘capital’ and says the word clearly. Laura says, ‘Say it with me, capital.’ Students say the word. Laura provides students with a simple definition of the word. The students turn to their partner and repeat the definition to their partner. Laura says, ‘Track with me,’ before beginning to read the text at an appropriate pace. Her students track the text word by word with their finger. Laura says to the students, ‘Read with me,’ then together they read the informative text that is projected on the screen. Students are actively engaged in reading the text.
