Lessons Are not Engaging

When the teacher does not use modelling techniques, lessons are not interactive or engaging. Teacher talk increases and students are passive. They are not asked to participate in their learning. As a result, lessons lack the interaction needed to capture and hold their interest.

The Problem is Compounded

When students are passive and not actively participating in their learning, lessons become boring and uninspiring. Students lose interest when they are expected to sit silently and listen to the teacher talk throughout the lesson. When students are not engaged and interested, they do not learn effectively and find it difficult to recall information or perform skills with confidence.
