Lessons Are not Engaging

Teacher James is teaching a chemistry lesson to his Year 6 class on using chemical change for recycling. James is passionate about the subject and so wants to give his students as much information as possible. He provides students with a lecture on the topic. While James is interested in the lesson, the students are not, as he has not involved them in the lesson. There is no interaction between James and the students, or the students and the content. The students are passive listeners and passive learners. They are not inspired, despite James’ enthusiasm.
