The tick

The tick √ in the script is a prompt to check on what students are doing. The tick indicates activities where students write or are involved with touching or finding parts of their text or workbook page.

A check requires only a couple of seconds. The teacher scans several students and checks whether the students and checks whether the students are performing the action. If they are, the teacher proceeds with the presentation. If not, the teacher repeats the direction and repeats the check.
