Student mastery is more important than lesson completion. Ensuring students have mastered each step in the program sequence lays a solid foundation for future learning.
How It Works
Teachers constantly listen to student answers for correctness and correct any errors that are made. They repeat parts or whole exercises until no errors are made.
Teachers actively monitor during independent work, and then correct and review it. If the group does not meet the criterion, teachers reteach the exercises that are not mastered to the entire group.
Teachers review mastery test results to check if students have mastered the content. Students who are not at mastery are remediated and retested.
