Empowers Students to Gain Confidence
Example One
Teacher Harry’s students are sitting for the maths mastery test. He is actively monitoring and ensures that students are making very few errors. He collects the test booklets and scores the tests. All students have met the criteria for all parts of the test. In the next maths lesson, Harry tells his students that they have all passed. He praises them for their learning and attention to detail, and tells them how proud he is to see them mastering the content.

Example Two
Teacher, Kate, has completed the teaching portion of her language lesson. She has taught the lesson to mastery by repeating two exercises until her students were firm, corrected all errors, and given individual turns to her lower-performing students. Kate assigns the independent work and actively monitors while her students are working. Once students are finished, she has students check their work. When they finish checking, she asks them to raise their hands if they have zero or one errors, and all the students raise their hands. Kate gives specific, positive praise to her students and challenges them to repeat their positive results in the upcoming lessons.
