Unable to Make Informed Teaching Decisions
When teachers just teach the program and do not worry about what students are mastering, they do not have enough information to make informed teaching decisions about their students’ mastery. The teacher is just moving through the material.

What Happens
The Problem is Compounded
Students are not firmed or brought to mastery on any skill. Teachers cannot ensure that students will be at mastery on independent work, checkouts or mastery tests. Students are not remediated or retested before moving on. Students will continue to struggle and are unable to keep moving forward. Instead, they will be moved back in the program in order to master the concepts.
