The School Team Engages with Community

When the teacher schedules parent classroom visits, they create opportunities for parents to become involved in their child’s education. 

  

The school team:

• promotes improvements to the school environment to show parents and the community how the school supports their children 
• creates opportunities for parents to visit classrooms – this increases parents’ commitment to being involved in improving their child’s education opportunities  
• demonstrates positive high expectations strategies and encourages parents to reinforce them at home 
• involves parents in problem solving discussions about their child’s learning 
• creates opportunities for the school to engage with the community and community leaders 
• promotes the community’s involvement in developing and achieving the school’s vision and improvement targets through community engagement initiatives.
